Does Acai Berry Cause Harmful Side Effects?

Acai berry is a natural growing fruit found on acai palm trees in the Amazonian rainforests. The indigenous tribes have been eating the berries for a long time and have thrived. The acai berries can be compared to blueberries. They are black or dark purple and look very similar to a typical berry found in a grocery store. The only difference is they are not found in grocery stores because of where they are grown.

The acai berry has the same qualities as other fruits, but just more enhanced. The acai berry is not harmful or poisonous. It is just like any other natural growing fruit that people enjoy for breakfast or mixed into their favorite smoothie. Independent studies have been conducted repeatedly and all of them draw the same conclusion. The acai berry is a safe food to eat. In fact, it is extremely good for a person’s overall health. It is possible that a person may be allergic to the acai berry. Those that have an allergy typically develop the same reactions as those who have an allergy to strawberries or other fruits.

Because it is a fruit, it can cause some stomach issues if eaten in massive quantities. The same can be said for any other fruit or food currently available at a grocery store. Consuming acai berry has been proven to be safe and does not have any known negative side effects. Doctors agree that the berry is a great source of antioxidants, protein and potassium. Unfortunately, people not living in the rainforest will not get the opportunity to eat a handful of acai berries. However, there are various acai berry juices, powders and frozen pulps that can be consumed to get the health benefits of the powerful berry.
